Both the grandkids can fit on it at the same timeWe moved into a house with a large oak tree this year and knew we NEEDED to get a tire swing for the kids up. My wife found this kit on Amazon and it saved me a bunch of time in making my own swing as everything you need is included, except some rope and the tree of course! My kids love the swing and we will get many more years of use out of this! I did have to thoroughly wash the tire with warm soapy water as it had some black residue on it as some others have described. This swing was so easy to install, is sturdy, and a ton of fun for the entire neighborhood. We opted for a tire swing over some other popular styles bc we wanted something durable enough to last throughout childhood - not suffer sun damage after one hit Georgia summer and have to be tossed. This swing fit the bill! Well worth the investment and only wish we’d made the purchase summers ago!Let me start off by saying I don’t normally leave a review but feel in this case it’s Necessary. I read reviews before I decide to make a purchase as I did I this Circumstance. I read that some people’s tire arrived dirty and some didn’t. The tire arrived very oily like excessive the box was covered in it and the tire itself was so nasty and oily it shined just lifting it out of the box I was covered in it. I had to spray degreaser al over it and pressure wash it just to be able to use it. I should of read the description better which is my fault but it only came with the chain and nothing at all to attach this swing to a tree or play set. I had to go out and buy a swivel and some Carabiners and extra chain because the one provided was nowhere near long enough at 5.5feet. I feel for a dirty used oily tire that they couldn’t even clean up before shipment and a chain for over $100 that didn’t even come with something to hang it with is overpriced. Also the tire had a shard of metal sticking out of it, and not only that but the tire had markings on it where the metal was. My kids could of been injured by that if I hadn’t noticed and removed it. I was going to return it for a refund and decided after cleaning it up and buying the stuff I needed to hang it that it would just be more of a hassle at that point. Just beware when buying this. We've had this tire swing for almost a year, and my kids LOVE it. It is a kid magnet, and we often end up with neighborhood children in our yard, just to play on the tire swing. We've had up to six on it, although admittedly six children IS a bit tight (ages 10, 8, 8, 5, 4, and 3). It's very easy to assemble, and I appreciate the fact that it has extra holes drilled so you can switch the chain positions in case signs of wear show up where the chains are connected (which hasn't been an issue at all).My children have come up with a number of specific "rides" that they have named, and it has really encouraged cooperation (since I only give them a couple of pushes and then say they're on their own!). The tire swing has been worked into many of their imaginative games too, such as a hovercraft spy vehicle, or a make-shift tent with a sheet draped over it. We were planning to store it in the garage this past winter, but my five-year-old insisted on leaving it up - she used it even in the snow.I watched the price fluctuate quite a bit before we finally purchased it for a little over $100, so you might want to pay attention to prices before buying. But this tire swing was well worth the money for us.This tire arrived in nice shape for a used tire. We chose to spray paint it since we didn't want the black rubber coming off on the kids clothes. However, even after 3 coats of paint, something (oil maybe?) came through the tire and made the bright yellow paint look kind of a drab olive green. We are continuing to add coats of paint. We figure eventually it won't happen. The bolts are heavy duty, and the kids love swinging on it. It was missing one of the large washers but we went to the store and picked up something as close as we could get and it worked fine.Ok so you might say, I can build one for less. Maybe you could however:My wife talked me into purchasing the tire swing already made up. Not that she doubt my ability to make one myself but I have enough stuff going on already so it would be on less thing on the "to do" list.Im glad I took her advice. This swing is well made, the tire is nice and clean. The hardware is really nice and will last a long time. The tire swing is really over engineered for strength. Your kids will not break it, exceed the weight limit etc..(if your child does exceed the weight limit you may want to get him or her to a doctor quickly)If i would make one suggestion to improve the swing it would only be that the seller take the extra time to fully assemble it. Not that it required much and really it is not much work. I just like it when I can take something right out of the box and hook it up and use it...we after all are the instantaneous gratification generations.Super easy to install, four holes in the tire go to the bottom for draining water, three smaller holes up top for mounting the chains. Just push the bolt through the small holes in the tire and lock it in with a washer and nut and your loggin. Holds 180LBS person just fine. I used the selware swing 1200LB swivel hook and it works great. 10/10 would recommend you wash it before you use it to prevent oil stains. Your gonna need three small clips/carabineers to hook the top part of the chain to your swing mount.
